Vernard "Nard" Hollins, Always 100 President and CEO, was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended North Side High School, where he currently holds numerous basketball records. He has received various basketball accolades including All-SAC recognition, All-State Honors, the Tiffany Gooden Award, as well as participation in the Indiana All-Star Game amongst the state's elite players. Vernard went on to play basketball on the collegiate level at Wright State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education.


Career Highlights

Upon graduation, he began to explore a professional basketball career on an international stage in Mexico, Germany, Macedonia, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Hungary, and Austria. Some of his highest professional acknowledgments include a career high of 59 points while in Mexico, leading his team to the first ever Hungary Cup Championship, making the Hungarian All-Tournament Team, and was also honored as Switzerland's Player of the Year, where he also trained Swiss youth in basketball fundamentals. 

In 2014, Vernard introduced Always 100 International, a training program designed for international athletes to experience his high level training programs. That same year, Vernard completed his ninth international pro basketball season with Union Neuchatel in Switzerland. Vernard averaged 12 points and 4 assists per game, plus he led the team in scoring with 20 points in both the Semi-Finals as well as the win for the Cup Championship. 


Honors & Recognition

In recognition of his tremendous accomplishments both on and off of the court, Mr. Hollins received a Mayoral Proclamation declaring June 20th as "Vernard Hollins Day" in the City of Fort Wayne. He was also honored as a First Inaugural Class inductee into the North Side High School Hall Of Fame in August of 2015. Mr. Hollins was recognized as the 2016 Nancy Rehm Award winner in April for his tremendous contributions to girls basketball, joining a distinguished list of prior recipients like Fort Wayne's own Tiffany Gooden and coaching icon Pat Summit.

About Always 100

Always 100, Inc. was established in 2011 as a non-profit triggering the development of the Always 100 Basketball Academy, which conducts pro-level, high-intensity group and individual workouts with youth, high school, and collegiate level athletes. Hollins was also able to publish a biographical book: The Disease Didn't Kill the Dream, created a basketball workout DVD, and has been a featured motivational speaker at various youth conferences and forums. His ultimate goal is to continue allowing an exceptional basketball experience with minimal costs obligation to parents of motivated youth. 


Philanthropy & Community Involvement

Vernard takes tremendous pride in enriching his community and giving back by committing to sponsoring his late father's youth football team, providing Always 100 scholarships for deserving athletes, organizing campus visits for recruits, and funding several AAU organizations. Through numerous partnerships with Parkview Health, Parkview Physician's Group, Parkview Sports Medicine, Club 1 Basketball, Halo Media Inc., and community donors, Vernard and his coaching staff are able to inspect, direct, and correct players as they give Always 100! 

Always 100 Basketball and its partnership with the SportONE Parkview Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne, has had measurable success in its effort to take athletes of all ages and skill sets to the next level. This well-established basketball skills academy develops a wide-range of players, through a group and individualized approach, including the elite who have Division I collegiate scholarships and interests.


The Vision

It is Vernard's mission, along with his stellar trainers and staff, to inspire the local youth as well as expand the network of programs to your athletes! The goal remains to be the example of hard work, dedication, and character while exposing Always 100 athletes to the best opportunities to play the game he has dedicated his entire life to: Basketball!
